Playa del Carmen welcomes the best in techno, house, and trance, for a tropical getaway.
A New York City nightlife heavyweight teams up with Pollen to create a brand new festival experience titled Departure, designed to occur at the turn of the new year with the idea of leaving it all behind.
New year, new me. Departure was designed as an experience accompanied by a story. Music lovers abroad can flock to the Yucatan peninsula at the turn of the year, and enter a metaphorical portal departing from the previous year and entering the next.
Our approach was to develop a 3D environment where the camera can be moved in order to highlight different aspects of the experience. The challenge was to blend the dark themes of techno with the bright overtones of the tropics. My roles included key art, 3D design, graphic design, and development of a custom runic typeface.

The final deliverables list included a new brand identity and supporting assets, a large quantity of 3D renderings (still/animation), and custom font to be used for social media marketing.
