Amplifying a high octane Spring Break brand with an even louder identity and expansive design system.
The challenge was to add depth and personality to SWAT, a long-running brand that hosts experiences in classic Spring Break spots such as Rosarito and Panama City Beach. The larger vision was to expand to more than 5 destinations, adding variety to the classic, collegiate rite-of-passage.
First, we worked with an external agency who redesigned the logo. From here, the internal design team was in charge of rethinking the language of the brand, including identity elements, motion graphics, copy, tone, and positioning.
To reflect the ruggedness and blissful energy of the brand, we selected maximal typography for still imagery and kinetics for motion design. Additionally, we expanded the color palette from only red, adding some separation within the brand's family of experiences.
